Texas Drifting: Henry Swasey Does Lonestar Drift Round 1

If you have been keeping up with drifitng in Texas you are now well aware that Aaron Losey of Fabricated Motorsports has started a 2011 Lonestar Texas drift series. Round 1 took place at Nonstop Tuning’s anniversary car show event. MaydayGarage was present, but unfortunately we had to skip out early….so you wont be finding any pictures here, however, Henry Swasey from Team Silhouette caught some great coverage. Long story short, Silhouette underdog Robert Lee took the win of Round 1 in his 113 hp AE86 by being tapped by last year XDC series winner Chelsea DeNofa. The first round of the series had a great turnout and is looking very promising! Check the video from Henry Swasey!

Event Coverage: An XDC Round 5 Preview

This past weekend I made my way out to Fort Worth Texas for the 5th round of XDC. I’m not going to lie, I was pretty stoked for the event being that a national drift circuit hasn’t touched base on Texas soil in over 3 years. The weather however was not very welcoming as we arrived on track day as a band of rain happened to sit its ass right on Fort Worth for about 12 hours. The rain did eventually stop however right when the event started started and everything proceeded on schedule. There were some pretty clean cars out there and some unexpected results in this round of the drift circuit. All of which I will get to in part one. Until then, take a brief look at what was going on this weekend at XDC rd. 5.

Plenty of People rocking CCWs nowadays, but this IS pulled it off really nice.

Nice to see different platforms sitting pretty. One of the good things about the offset movement is everyone can play

Chelsea Denofa, current points leader in the series suffering from suspension problems all day couldn't wasnt able to place. He did however pull a 100yd burnout, pretty impressive.

Event Coverage: Fabricated Motorsports’ The Mexican Standoff.

A Mexican standoff is a slang term defined as a stalemate or impasse, a confrontation that neither side can forseeably win. In popular culture, the Mexican standoff is usually portrayed as three or more opponents with guns drawn and ready, creating a tense situation. Neither side is willing to shoot for fear of being shot in return, yet neither side wants to relinquish its weapons for fear that its opponents will shoot them. This situation forces the participants to resolve the situation either by diplomacy, surrender, or a pre-emptive strike.

Everything IS bigger in Texas. That includes Carbon wings.

Lone Star Bash 2010: A Host’s Perspective.

“May 16, 2010 marked the date of the second Lone Star Bash. LSB as we will refer to it is an idea more than anything. Basically by labeling an event such as this, everyone knows exactly what event they need to ALL come out to, all at once. LSB is a date to bring everyone together. There are no draws like prize money, naked import models, trophies, cotton ball smoke on top of mirrors, or any of that. The draw is hanging out with awesome people that think alike, tandeming 10 cars deep with 100 mph entries, partying the night before, and being a part of something big. While the car show scene has died out in the last few years, leaving the giants HIN and NOPI dead, the drift scene has exploded. And yet it has stayed very grass roots at the same time.
