What’s up my fellow ricers!! I’d like to formally introduce myself to you guys. My name is Tim Durnak! I have joined the Mayday team this year to bring some coverage from the East Coast as well as Formula Drift coverage. This past weekend i was in Long Beach catching the action as we watched Fredric Aasbo take the podium in Round 1. That set the tone for what is going to be an exciting season of Formula Drift as Round 1 ended with minutes to spare before they had to reopen the streets of Long Beach.
Come join us as we blast our way up I-45 in style! We will be leading a caravan of cars from Houston to Dallas in time for Formula DRIFT Round 6 – Texas Motor Speedway and the Fatlace Offset Kings show! We will be meeting at the Greenspoint Mall Parking lot facing I-45 at 8:30am and leave for Dallas at precisely 9:30am. We will also stop at Buc-ee’s to gas up, use the shitter and get some refreshments. We will have free Mayday Garage and special FDTX run stickers for all of those that attend! We will see you Friday!
Here’s a video from last year!
As stated before, times change, and people change, but friends are forever. One of our friends, Andrew, got married a couple of years ago, and although marriage makes you take on different priorities, passion will always remain the same. Andrew recently joined us for a trek to Dallas, TX, home of Formula Drift Round six. It’s good to know that not only does he still enjoy smoking rubber tires into the night, he still knows how to capture a great image.
We know you guys are wanting to see what we’ve covered, and while Danh, Khiem, and Andrew are all working on their photos in their free time, Newton and Ray are joining forces to create a cool video. In the meantime, here are some quick photos and a short video to tide you over!
Just a short video preview of our Formula Drift coverage at Texas Motor Speedway! Watch for the REAL video soon! Song: Nightcall Artist: Kavinsky
For you YouTube users:
A goal for Mayday Garage this year is to be more active than we were last year and what better way to show that by attending Round 1 of FormulaD’s 10th year anniversary held on the streets of Long Beach, CA. It is also my first time back in California since the last FormulaD event. If you didn’t get a chance to read it, click HERE.
