Once a Ricer, Always a Ricer.

Say hi to JohnP. He runs the Rice Box Food Truck and is the main boss here at Mayday Garage. While it’s true he runs around like a maniac spitting out things in Cantonese, broken vietnamese and the occasional ebonics, he also enjoys driving his NA1 NSX whenever possible. He recently bought a carbon diffuser and last weekend, finally got around to installing it. Let’s just say installing the diffuser was a snap, but taking apart the rear bumper? That’s time consuming.

He was flexing for the camera btw

But it looks so goooooood

It’s funny in that despite him owning an NSX, JohnP loves to drive aggressively and loves the old 90’s cars and never forgets his Integra/corolla ricer roots. Like the rest of the guys, he appreciates all cars and respects other car guys that work on their own cars.

Once you go black?

We got a chance to catch up with Andre Mikhaylov, an old school ricer that lives in Houston. Believe it or not, his Berlina Black NA1 NSX is also his daily. It being NSX #2 for Andre, he knows exactly what he wanted this time around, and it’s really great to see such a nice and unusual car being put through it’s daily paces. I asked him why he chose to daily an NSX to which he replied, “It’s a Honda”. Point taken.

They don't make profiles like this anymore.

Sexy NSX.

Meet Christian’s NA1 Acura NSX. He goes through wheels like people go through socks. As he awaits tires for his TE37 SL’s, he still has his holy grail Regamaster EVO’s on the fronts. Even though they’re mismatching, we find it to have some cool Japanese character that way.

That’s him sipping on coffee while JohnP tries to show Christian his semi-awkward boner.

Random Snap: Sleeping NSX.

As I was getting ready to leave the Convention Center in Edison, NJ, home of Wek’Fest East, Tae from SPS garage came by and urged me to come check out his car. “You won’t regret it”, were his words. When I came around the corner, I was greeted by a slumbering NSX tucked neatly away under a truck trailer. NSX’s are already pretty low to the ground, but lowered ones are on skateboard status.

Don’t worry, more to come!
