Destined For Greatness: 3 370Z’s Prepare for the Arrival of Top Secret

Secret Services Auto was surrounded by 370z's last thursday as Planet Zero, Swat Performance and Baker-Jackson Nissan were dynoing their Nissan 370Z's in preparation for Smoky Nagata's (of Top Secret Japan fame) arrival and tune starting on March 29th, just in time before Import Reactor Unlimited. I must have counted 5 or 6 370z's that day in front of the shop, three of which sported a small "Top Secret" decal on the rear window.

Breaking News: Smoky Nagata of Top Secret to Come to Houston!!

On March 31, 2010, Houston will experience the legendary Smoky Nagata of TOP SECRET Japan like no other has before. Smoky, along with one of his trusted Top Secret Mechanics will be coming to Houston as special guests to local Houston car show, Import Reactor. Smoky however, is not just coming as a guest, he will also be tuning TWENTY Nissan cars over the span of THREE DAYS at local tuner shop Secret Services with a new ECU prototype, Top Secret Process.

The Chosen Nissan Cars to be tuned will be selected from the Nissan 350z, Nissan 370z, Infiniti G35, Infiniti G37, and R35 GTR. Over the span of three days, the first two will be PRIVATE tunes only, no public access will be granted. But, on the third day, from 3:00pm until 12:00am the Houston tuning community will look on as Smoky Nagata puts his personal touch on the remaining cars to be tuned.

This is truly a golden opportunity for anyone who has dreamed of having their car tuned by Top Secret Japan. Not only will 20 lucky people be able to meet the one and only Smoky Nagata of Top Secret, but they will also be able to have their cars tuned by him as well.

OTWeb: Top Gear test drives the Lexus LF-A.

I know i'm a few weeks late on this post, but I was at work today and watched this video on my iPhone, and was completely blown away at the comic book-style aspects of the video. I have always loved the video editing in the Top Gear videos, but this one is just a tad different. It definitely left a huge smile on my face.
Love the alien spaceship!!
Please watch!

OTWeb: Rocky Auto Fairlady Z from TAS 2010

Although I can appreciate a very super cleanly executed Vintage S30 Z such as Van's 73' 240Z, I have a very strong passion for new school flavor on old school JDM rides.

As I read through Ben Schaffer's The Real JDM blog to see what perspectives he had on this year's Tokyo Auto Salon, he featured a very gnarly S31 Datsun Z that embodies all of the new school traits of the JDM tuning scene mixed with the classic styling of the original Japanese muscle cars.

Random Snap: An everyday Accord EuroR

While I was in Japan, I was constantly fighting the urge to put away my 8 pound DSLR camera as me and my buddy would walk just about everywhere in Tokyo. Walking around for miles was a very common thing to do while vacationing in Tokyo. The reason why I would keep that 8 pound weight around my neck was so that I could capture any car that I found interesting. I snapped a ton of pictures, and what's funny is the locals would look at me like I was nuts. Most tourists take photos of buildings and monuments, not everyday, normal cars. What designates a "normal" car? I have no clue, but when I took pictures of this obviously modified TSX/Accord EuroR, I got that look.

Does this car look too sedate? Not to me.

Japan: A day with Alexi @ Nikko Circuit Pt. 3

In the final part of our series of A day in Nikko Circuit, we will concentrate on Alexi Smith. Alexi Smith is a pretty well known guy from Australia and runs a blog about his adventures in Japan called Nori Yaro . He speaks fluent Japanese, and has also guest blogged for SpeedHunters. You may have seen him in the JR goes drifting in Japan series, or you may have seen some of his work in Hot Version. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the man during my stay in Tokyo, Japan.

This is Alexi. This is his Mark 2. Say hi.

Japan: A day with Alexi @ Nikko Circuit pt. 2

Drifting. The mention of the word sends different thoughts through my head. AE86's, Touge, D1, wild body kits, bright colors and tire smoke are just a few words that come to mind. Of those, the one constant word that always comes back is JAPAN.

The heartland and origin of drifting as we all know it today. What better way to experience drifting than to go to the source. Lucky for me, my buddy Ameen from 786 motoring hooked me up with Alexi Smith from Ziptied.com.

Japan: A day with Alexi @ Nikko Circuit Pt. 1

Greetings from J-Land everyone! As I write this in my hotel in Shinjuku, I'm multitasking by simultaneously uploading pictures, editing video, and updating my status on Twitter, Facebook and here on Mayday. I flew into Japan Sunday night, and contacted Alexi of NoriYaro.com fame to show me around while I am here in Japan. Alexi is no stranger to Japan, and is an avid drifter and car enthusiast originally from Australia. He drives a JZX chassis, and pretty damn good.
