The Chreeno Archives: Tyler Calhoun’s Street WRX

A couple of months ago a good friend of mine, and local Houston photographer Chris Reno approached me about a couple of cars he had shot over the past year. Chris (Chreeno) is a local ricer as well and has some great taste in cars, so when we talked about a bit of collaboration I got pretty excited. One of the cars in discussion was Tyler Calhoun’s WRX, an ultra clean, tastefully modded street style beast that, when seen in person makes you break your neck. We like cars like this. Though we at Mayday Garage enjoy “over the top” barely street legal, ricer engaged wild builds, we know a clean car when we see one and Tyler’s Subie fits the bill.

Formula D Irwindale: The Final Part- Everything Else in Pictures.

As we finally come to a close on our epic coverage of FormulaD Final Round, I wanted to make a final post about everything else there is to see attending one of these massive drift events as seen through our camera lenses. Sit back, sip on some coffee, and enjoy the photos!

Low and super wide.

The Mexican Standoff

Sadly, this was Melyssa's last event as "Miss FormulaD"

Fans, drivers, everyone wanted to see the action. Drivers were often seen where the fans were to enjoy the rest of the show

Formula D Irwindale: Part 3- The Women of Formula D.

Oh you already know.

I’ve been getting hit up left and right about making a post dedicated to all of the “shorties” that were in attendance at FormulaD. Katy Perry and the Beach Boys made a song about it, so what is there to say about Californian girls? HOT.

I’m not even gonna say anything else. I will let the pictures do the talking.

Andrew's pick of the litter, also featured on the cover of Import Tuner, Melyssa Grace shows us why she's got the stuff.

Sweet Jeezuz, those boots were made for walking.

**gulp**

Formula D Irwindale: Fatlace’s One of One Part 2.

Formula D usually brings three main flavors to the table, a drift competition, a car show, and some shorties (talent). In this edition of our continuing Formula D coverage, we’ll show you a few interesting cars that participated in the Fatlace OneOfOne car show.

Formula D Irwindale: The Mayday Perspective pt. 1

Seven deep and over 1000 miles from home, Mayday Garage ventured out to the west coast to watch and cover the finals of North America’s premiere drift series, Formula D. Drifting, Hardparkers and Shorties were on our agenda for the duration of our stay in California and I think we accomplished our goal. Today we are going to venture into the core of Formula D, Drift. Formula D Final round was taken by the Rockstar NASCAR Motorplant Scion, driven by Tanner Foust. Following him for the day was series points leader Vaughn Gittin Jr. Our friend Linhbergh from Speedhunters had told us that we had picked a great event to go to because the amount of drama that ensued throughout the event. From series rivalries to wrecks, we witnessed an amazing event for sure.

Last years series winner, Chris Forsberg. Consistent all day, but a spin out would take him out.

Gardella Racing, great team, great driver, but luck wasn't on their side this past weekend. Either way, balls out in style.
