On the Street: Danny’s Sex 15.

At Mayday Garage, we are all about that street style, that street culture. Wether it be rolling out together to grab some burgers from Underbelly, a few local brews from The Hay Merchant, or going to show up to Ricer Wednesdays to look at other rice rides, we like to do everything on the street. Resident ricer, Danny Barber might be known for Catalina or his stints at The Idlers games in Japan, he is known to us as one of the ultimate street ricers. A great example is his authentic Nissan Silvia S15, a car that he imported with serious body damage, he was able to completely strip the car, replace what was missing, build an S15 SR20DET and drop it in all in the confines of his own garage, including all body work.

Going back in time: Ridox JZA80 Supra

Surprisingly, with all the FD’s, S14’s, miatas, S15’s, and NSX’s around Mayday Garage, you would think one of us would try to build a Toyota Supra. In reality, we’ve all talked about what would be the ultimate Supra, but never quite pulled the trigger on getting one. You would also think that being based out of Houston, TX, home of the now famous TX2K events, we would definitely build a 1000+ hp one, but really have all come to realize that the Supras here in the US vary greatly from their Japanese owner counterparts across the Pacific Ocean. So for inspiration, we present to you, the ultimate street Supra in it’s most iconic form: the Ridox JZA80 Supra personally owned by Manabu Orido taken from screen grabs of Hot Version.

Danh’s White Girl Wasted FR-S.

We poke fun at Danh a lot, whether it’s his ride height, Fobbyness, women or his massive calves, he takes them all in stride. Somehow between traveling all over the US shooting FD events, working the graveyard shift here in Houston, and drinking beers and eating dirty chinese food, he finds the time to modify his new car, the Scion FR-S. And when Danh sees an opportunity to shoot in the right sunlight, he will randomly snap a cool photo like these two.
