japanese gangster holding an ax

For today’s Nostalgic Wednesday, I’m honored to share one of my favorite cars of all time.

Ahhhh yes…the Mercedes Benz 190e EVO II. Whenever I hear EVO II, all  I picture is a high-rise fiber glass spoiler on a “baby benz”(i don’t know, it must be the ricer in me..the fat evo wing kit ya know).

OTWeb Video: Exotic Cat and Mouse- The Ring Race

Exotic car chases are nothing new. Even if the cars are super badass ones like the Porsche 911 GT3 and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, we’ve all seen a video or two with them chasing each other. So then why does this video by StuntAttitude.fr be any different? My guess is that it has said GT3 doing a few gnarly drifts in the middle of the streets in what looks like France. You be the judge!

I can’t wait to see their “NY Chase” soon!

Nostalgic Wednesdays:BRE 1971 Datsun 510

From humble beginnings, the Datsun 510 roadster was introduced to the US market as an entry level non-aggressive coupe. A well engineered and affordable car that saw itself competing with the “all-American”  muscle cars.

Sales did good during its debut, but it proved nothing, Datsun/Nissan wanted more;

what better way to sell the Nissan/Datsun image than to include the 510 in a national racing competition; The SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) Trans-AM 2.5 Series.

Brock’s Racing Enterprises (BRE), a familiar name in tuning domestics and imports, stepped in and formed their own Datsun Racing Team. The rest my friends is history…

1971 SCCA TransAm 2.5 series,  guess who murked BMW 2002s, Herb Weston and his Alfa Romeo GTAs?

39 years after, John Morton and his championship Datsun; what a timeless beauty.

one of the best liveries in my list; BRE Livery = Datsun Racing.

The BRE Datsun 510, an iconic piece of engineering, proved to the American racing clubs that great things come from humble beginnings.

On the Run Shoot: Robert Turnbow’s Candy MX73 Toyota Cressida

This past weekend we were out at Powerfab Automotive for the dial-in session for the Texas drift cars for the 2011 season.  Being from Texas we are pretty much familiar with most of the cars that rolled out and some even changed their faces for the 2011 season, one person inparticular was Robert Turnbow and his MX73 Toyota Cressida.  When Robert rolled to the event with candy red literally dripping off his frame, we looked, and then smiled.  Usually you catch people on the course with the latter generation 83 like our ol’ buddy Ameen but Robert decided to keep it old school with his x7…
