Another contender this year for I.R. Drift 2010 is Houston’s own, Ameen Rizvi. Ameen, who has gained quite a bit of local support over the past few years will be laying it down Arab $$ Money style for Import Reactor Drift 2010. Ameen will be battling it out in his super sweet 2JZ swapped Cressida Grocery Getter for I.R. Drift. He also is in pursuit of the podium and like many others who thirst for the win, he is going all out!

Ameen has also been picked up and sponsored for I.R. Drift 2010 by local car crew Team Epik. Team Epik, a relatively new Hard Park crew in Houston is very, very excited about about the collaboration with Ameen. They too will have a large presence at Import Reactor over the weekend with roughly 15 cars in attendance. When asking Ameen about the match up, he said “I want to thank Team Epik for being a super cool group of people, really glad that I got paired up with them. They definitely share the same passion for cars as I do.” Which is cool, because Ameen’s alter handle is “Hondaboi”.

Hard Park x Drift

When MaydayGarage went to meet up Ameen over this past weekend he was working on several cars that are prepping for the up and coming Import Reactor, including his own Cressida. We couldnt help but get excited when we went up to the garage and there was Ameen fitting on these sick ass Work Equips you see in the photos. We have to admit, they really add some character to the car, what do you think?

Let’s get to know Ameen a bit…

“I’ve been drifting for 8 years, and have lived in different states as well as had the opportunity to drift with several cool cats. I’ve switched from different platforms starting from the 3rd generation Toyota Supra, to the Nissan s13 240sx and now to the Cressida.”

“Although I like the S13 and it is a great drifting platform I went with the Cressida because it is different and very challenging. There is nothing like drifting in a sedan, there is a lot of baller factor there!”

Grocery Getter

“Another thing I had to do was yank that stock 7M from the stock Cressida. Initially I swapped a 1JZ-GTE into the Cressida, but that was short lived and I wanted more. So in stepped the 2JZ, I love it.”

Heartbeat

“I like keeping drifting fun and exciting as well as challenging. I’m still working some bugs out of the Cressida but hopefully it will be ready to raise hell come April 1st!! I also want to give a shout out to all of my buddys at 786, Hip, Adam, Ricky and my bro Amir. With the heated competition coming out to I.R. Drift, we look forward to seeing Ameen tear it up. We have definitely got some love for drift cars that can also get grocery’s.
