Hailing from Austin, Texas, Russell Walker will be competing in I.R. Drift, the opening ceremonies to Import Reactor and Japanese festival Anime Matsuri in April. Mayday Garage had driven up to Austin this past weekend to kick it with Russell a bit and check out his car. We have to admit, this is one funny ass dude and we cannot wait to kick it with him when he comes down to compete in April for IR: Drift.

Events: I.R. Drift 2010 Debut! 04.01.2010

This event is a mix of Planet Zero, Mayday Group and Aaron Losey, with a hint of high speed, high cash payout and Vaughn Gittin JR. These ingredients will be carefully presented to everyone…..at night.

This also serves as a vehicle for collaboration of show crews and competing drifters. Each team registered for Import Reactor has been presented with the opportunity to sponsor the drivers of IR Drift.  If sponsored, the driver runs the team logo and represents that team in battle.

The competition will be fierce. The drivers are competing for $3000 is cash prizes, fame, being heroes in all the media outlets and bringing pride to the show crews that sponsored them.

The roster of drivers has been finalized, and MaydayGarage will be releasing the driver profiles in the coming days.

On the Run: Ty Nguyen’s Simply Clean Audi A4

This past weekend when we are out at Subaru for the ESX Dealer tour, there were many makes and models OTHER than Subaru’s that came out to witness the event. From Honda’s to Toyotas, people flocked as ESX stunted their drag car and Subaru hosted their shop day. There was one car however that stood out like a fat kid in dodge ball, and that car was Ty Nguyen’s, Audi A4. It was kind of funny how we encountered the car. We were standing around the event waiting for a raffle to start and a delivery van was somewhat blocking the entrance to the event, and when the van moved, someone tapped me on the shoulder and said, holy shit! I look back and asked what the hell the commotion was, and to my surprise there was this A4 Laying frame at a Subaru dealership, I paused, and knew we had to shoot it…and we only had 45 minutes to do so.
