Sikky Racing: Mean Green Fighting Machines

Sikky Racing is made up drivers James Evans and “Rapper” Dan Savage.  James and Dan have been driving together from as far back as 2008 when they were competing in US Drift, the premier east coast Formula Drift Pro Am feeder series. It wasn’t until 2011 when James and the crew at Sikky Manufacturing / JE Import Performance would approach Dan to join forces. Dan piloted a Nissan S13 Hatch alongside James in a Nissan 350z. In that inaugural year as team, they traveled up and down the east coast of the United States, competing at XDC events and other various grassroots venus such as Drift Nirvana and East Coast Bash.

Formula D Long Beach: Dorifto Life

Im back with another post from Formula D Long Beach!!!! If you have ever shot Formula D Long Beach before than you know that the drifting is only part of the action. All the new liveries are released, all the new drivers get a taste of the action, and it sets the tone for the rest of the year. With that being said, Round 2 at Road Atlanta got very interesting with only one of the major names taking the podium. Up to this point it is still anyones game. Who will Podium in Atlanta? Will Chris Forsberg bounce back or will Aasbo take two in a row? Mad Mike will also be making his debut in Atlanta.

Volume is sometimes overrated.

We love the sound of squealing tires as they fight with the pavement below them in a tug-of-war match of grip and slip, and we absolutely go bonkers when we hear high revving, turbocharged four bangers bounce the rpm needle off of the tach, but sometimes it’s nice to look at a photo and think, “wow, that’s really soothing”. Of course, with drifting, this is usually accomplished by watching one of the many hundreds of online videos of these cars in super slow motion, but kind of hard to accomplish with one photo and no volume. Kory Leung managed to capture that moment for me with this very simple, but soothing photo of a drift 180sx at sunset. Looking at this photo makes me want to lean back in my chair, and think about how life is so simple and we tend to overthink it. Now, I’m not trying to get all “find ones innerself” on you guys, but just take a moment and think about what you will be doing today, or this weekend.

Now imagine how all of that would be if you were in a constant and steady drift in this car with the sun kissing the side of your face without a sound. Soothing, isn’t it?

Andrew does Dallas.

As stated before, times change, and people change, but friends are forever. One of our friends, Andrew, got married a couple of years ago, and although marriage makes you take on different priorities, passion will always remain the same. Andrew recently joined us for a trek to Dallas, TX, home of Formula Drift Round six. It’s good to know that not only does he still enjoy smoking rubber tires into the night, he still knows how to capture a great image.
