Sikky Racing is made up drivers James Evans and “Rapper” Dan Savage. James and Dan have been driving together from as far back as 2008 when they were competing in US Drift, the premier east coast Formula Drift Pro Am feeder series. It wasn’t until 2011 when James and the crew at Sikky Manufacturing / JE Import Performance would approach Dan to join forces. Dan piloted a Nissan S13 Hatch alongside James in a Nissan 350z. In that inaugural year as team, they traveled up and down the east coast of the United States, competing at XDC events and other various grassroots venus such as Drift Nirvana and East Coast Bash.
James and Dan both grew together as drivers, both progressing with their car setups and overall skill behind the wheel. In 2013, after several years of acquiring Formula Drift Pro licenses, they decided to make the big step and compete in Formula Drift.
By taking the leap into Formula Drift, JE Import Performance built a new Nissan 350z for James and a Mazda RX-8 for Dan. The new chassis were decked out in Sikky Manufacturing parts, including engine mount kits, oil pans, headers, and Winters quick change subframes. Having a company with high standards as Sikky Manufacturing was a must to make two competitive cars that would meet the strict tech requirements of Formula Drift.
In their inaugural season the team competed in both Pro and Pro 2. The Pro 2 series was introduced into Formula Drift as a platform for developing teams to develop and grow into Pro. At the end of it all, James finished the season fifth place overall, with a spot on the podium for Second Place at the Pro 2 Texas Motor Speedway round and Dan took the Formula Drift Pro 2 Championship, with a win at the Pro 2 Seattle round, and a second place finish at the final Pro 2 round at Irwindale Speedway. Dan was able to qualify into Top 32 for the Atlanta, Miami, and Irwindale Pro Rounds.
For 2015, Sikky Racing is one of the few teams of less than forty drivers world wide that can compete at all seven rounds of Pro Formula Drift. The team is more driven then ever and plan to make their mark at every round this season!
