Nostalgic Wednesdays: Volk TE-37

YUPPPP! Today’s Nostalgic Wednesday is about the beloved Volk TE37s. What is so nostalgic about these wheels?

The funny part is,  No one really knows when they were created**. My earliest memory of the wheel was way back in the mid 90’s, when my cousin bought a brand new 15 inch set in white. I was so amazed how light they were and how we jokingly carried each wheel on each hand with ease.  Each one of us probably owned a couple of sets, dream of owning one or never liked them. what was your earliest memory of these wheels?

Video Preview: Henry’s NSX.

At MaydayGarage, we take pride in our photography, but I’d be telling a lie if I were to say that we didn’t enjoy video. As we have recently upgraded our lenses and computers, we are going to try to dabble in a little bit of video as well. With that being said, we have recruited a new member to the MaydayGarage Team, Newton Liu.

As Khiem and DFan were out doing their rounds with Henry’s NSX, we had invited Newton to join us on the shoot and just play around with some video. Here is the result.

Not too shabby for just “playing around” eh? We hope to include more and more videos to add to our media portfolio, and this is just the beginning. Next month is going to be an eventful month, and we have all hands on deck to bring you the freshest features and event coverage from the Lone Star state!

When GT Meets Street: Henry Kosasih’s Sorcery NA1 NSX

Here at MaydayGarage we make it a point to show the world what we, as ricers, would like. A few weeks ago we shared with our readers Dennis Muriel’s Do-luck kitted NSX. Ultra clean and “ in-between the lines tuning” were a few of the words that we used to describe Dennis’ style. This week however, we are sharing a different perspective. A perspective of an NSX build that steps outside the lines for a mix between GT and street, we’d like to share with you Henry Kosasih’s version, a widebody Sorcery NA1 NSX.

Just a part of the scenery..

Just a part of the scenery..

Sitting down over a cup of coffee, Mayday Mikey mentioned to me what it was like the first time he laid eyes upon Henry’s NSX. “ It was as though time stood still, the NSX was stuck there in the moment, allowing you to take it all in, everything that the car had to offer.” Funny how a piece of machinery can make time stand dead in its tracks.

Dead in it's tracks.

Dead in it's tracks.

I have been fortunate to know Henry for a few years now, and I will tell you that he is no slouch when it comes to building cars. Coming from the European world with a bad ass E46 M3, Henry decided to step up his game with the NSX. And knowing how he had built his M before it was no secret that the day the NSX landed in henrys lap in 2006, it wasn’t going to be a simple tune.

Extra Nostalgic Wednesday: Champions Forever, F1 Drivers

An hour length  documentary about the Formula 1 during the 70s.

Yeah yeah, i know..

dont mind the 70s porn music. The film is a little bit lengthy and cheesy but it’s well worth it.

I love the manual gearbox, the John Player Special car, the cigarette smoking coolness, the Nurburgring and Jackie Stewart, and most of all,  I loved how mechanical these cars were, and how everything was raw.  We also remember the fallen drivers and honor their contribution to the sport.
