Breaking News: D1 Grand Prix USA coming to Texas, August 2010.

D1 Grand Prix USA is making a stop in Texas this year, Fort Worth to be exact for the series’ first two rounds. It is good to see a national event touch base here in the good ol’ Lonestar State, and it is happening on August 13 & 14.  It has been a minute since the Texas audience has had the opportunity to experience Japanese drivers near home, and here’s our chance.  Appartenly D1 was teamed up with SPEED Channel to help bring the energy to the US series.  Man, I hope this turns out to be good!

A Sunday Funday: All Team Bash 2010

600 cars, 1000 plus people, 100 degree weather with 100% humidity, beer and BBQ combined, make Houston’s All-Team Bash.  Ringing in on their third year, local hardpark crew Sunwork’s leader David aka Kimo had his biggest event to date.  The All-team Bash is a meet that has a few objectives in mind, to establish stronger comradery between crews, have a great time, and provide an all welcoming environment for those who want to come out and meet their local favorites.  This year proved just that, people rolled from all over to hang out, eat, drink, and sweat to the beat of a ricer on a hot Sunday afternoon and we were there to hang with them.

Boost is Better.

An agressive look..

Yup, definitely better

to communicate boost is better.

Bag That Ass Up: Kevin Tran’s Super Sweet Lexus RX330

Beige.

To most people, beige is a color. To those in the automotive world, Big Beige is the nickname the media has christened Toyota Motor Co. The reason? Beige is boring. Toyota is turning into the new Buick, some say. They make safe, reliable, dependable, and almost always, predictable cars and trucks.

Epic sky is Epic.

MotorSportsCom: Nakamura Naoki domination.

This past Sunday, I was kicking it at over at MaydayDavid’s house watching some drifting from a video provided by D-Sport mag in their recent issue. One thing holds true about print, their late, 4 months, 6 months, even a year before some of their media even reaches the public eye. Anyways, the video we were watching was that of the D1 demos going on during the Tokyo Auto Salon 2010. What caught my eye about the video was how damn close these guys were to each other when they were driving, even just for a demo. Fast forward to the video below, it is a clip from the most recent MSC Challenge over in Japan. MSC is a grassroots drifting series in Japan with some insane action, but there is something in this video that catches my eye even more, Nakamura Naoki from Team Burst. Watch the video and you will know exactly which S13 coupe he is. Insane angle and hyper aggressive driving don’t even describe this guy’s style, just the word amazing. A great way to start a Monday I’d say so myself, thanks to RoadsterDrift for sharing.
