Although Nomuken (aka Ken Nomura) is not exactly nostalgic per se, this Option Video that he stars in is definitely one of the most memorable drift videos I’ve ever seen. In it, Mr. Monkey man himself drifts in a Japan Spec Nissan 180sx on the streets of L.A. while running from the Police. Check it out:
A Nissan Outing: The All Nissan Meet @ Baker Tuning
While I was in Dallas this weekend, Danh shot on over to the all Nissan Meet over at Baker Nissan on the North Side of Houston. Coupled with a guest DJ, aka Heavygrinder and local DJ Tito, it was a nice Saturday event. Baker Tuning got the point across that Nissans are their game, and they showed it. Enjoy the eye candy.

Cupcakin’ For Kids: Cup Cake Meet Coverage.
Cupcakes, girls, cars, and friends seem to be the formula that drives the ever growing Cupcake meets here in Texas. This past weekend I ventured out to Dallas witness the biggest cupcake meet to date. The CCMeet group themed this event “Cupcakin’ for Kids”, a fund raiser event that would give all proceeds towards the Scottish Rite Hospital for children, and every car that was to attend the event paid a nominal $15.00 to give to the charity. I knew the event was going to be of pretty good size when I asked Tiffany, the President of the Cup Cake Meet a couple of days before how many cars she had registered, she mildly threw out 300 cars. Now, 300 cars for a regular meet is a nominal number, however, we are talking about people “paying money” so 300 is a pretty damn good pre-registration goal. When we arrived the day of the event, 300 was a laughable number because 2 hours before the event even started there were in excess of 500 cars.

Cars as far as the eye could see.

Nostalgic Wednesdays: The HKS Toyota Celica Drag Car.
In our new bit in automotive history, I wanted to remind a few people out there that before people were crazy about drift and time attack events, there was another automotive form of racing that’s still popular today – Drag racing. Back in the 90’s, it was all about tube chassis Honda Civics running on wheelie bars using H22’s from Preludes. But there was one car that set the bar for all things FWD, The HKS Drag Celica.

Hellafun: The Fatlace/Stanceworks 512 Project pt.2
Cars and heat weren’t the only things on the Saturday agenda at the 512, people sweated it out to acquire the “grail” of approval stickers, the Hellaflush approval. This was an offset inspired event after all, and people were stoked to get it. Mayday Mikey and Edafe are some hard rollers, and they sure as hell deserved this!

Hellflush, Hellafun, Hellaexcited.
