Nostalgic Wednesdays: The Kraft Racing GT300 AE-86

The Kraft Racing GT300 AE86 is, in my opinion the sexiest 86 of all time. Powered by none other that the legendary 503E (3S-GTE on Crack), the factory backed Kraft Trueno shared the same heart as the GT300 Supras from the older JGTC series.   Unfortunately the car no longer exists as it was abandoned by the Kraft team for a newer MR-S halfway through the 2001 JGTC season.( According to sources the car burnt to a crisp on track).  When it did compete against its newer counterparts however, this fan favorite became as piece of Japanese tuning history.  There is not very much media on this car around anymore because it existed before the time of mega blogs and forums, but, linked below is the Kraft GT300 AE-86 build video with tribute to GT300. Simply put, amazing.

Event Coverage: Nisei Showoff 2010 Part 3.

Happy Monday everyone!

I know Mondays suck, but Andrew’s final and most epic post yet should put a smile on your face!
We strive to put out the most complete and best coverage out there, and unfortunately, that takes time, so thanks for being so patient with our coverage! Without further ado….

Words by Andrew Machac:

A little "flare" is always nice.

All in all it was a great day! L to R (ATS*Chris, ATS*Aj, ATS Angel and Chris' wife Dina)

Thank god she didn't have hairy pits. That woulda been awkward.

Event Coverage: Nisei Showoff 2010 Part 2.

As we pick up from part one, Andrew and company departed from DPK*David’s house with a slew of cars to one of the greatest shows in North America, Nisei Showoff. Held in Little Tokyo, this years show is supposedly the very last ever. Well, at least at this location…

In part two, Andrew shows us what most people don’t see, as everyone gets ready for the day, we get an inside glimpse at the people behind the cars.

Words by Andrew Machac:

DPK*David scopin out the High End E46 getting unloaded.

This was what I came upon as we made the turn down the main street in front of the Lot that hosted Nisei. So I hopped out of DPK*Henry's RHD EG6 and hunted a spot to catch the roll in.

TE37V's were lookin proper hanging out under the flares of this Z.

Nostalgic Wednesdays: The Wangan Midnight Devil Z

If you have been paying attention to our blog in the past we have featured two Datsun S30 240Zs, Khanh Le’s and Van Luong’s. Therefore it is no secret that we hold a special place in our hearts for this classic piece of Japanese art.  Which leads us to this week’s Nostalgic Wednesday, the Wangan Midnight Devil Z.  Wangan Midnight is yet another classic Japanese Manga/Anime from the mother land that glorifies the art of the Wangan.

Event Coverage: Nisei Week 2010 Part 1.

There’s no doubt that many of our readers have seen the plentiful pictures of the last Nisei Showoff around the net lately. The beautiful Cali weather mixed with beautiful people and cars is sure to be the right combination of the perfect car show with Los Angeles as the backdrop. And while we can’t compete with the many other media outlets out there which were out in full force, we do take pride in always providing a more human aspect to our coverage. So this was a pretty tall order for our shooter, Andrew, as he went solo style packed with only his Canon 40D, some T-Shirts, shorts and ZERO suntan lotion.

ATS Garage: You know, and I know it. One of the best in the biz.

I tried numerous spots of capturing the seriousness of Angels wheel and tire setup, and this is the best one I could get.

In part one, Andrew lets us take a look at the events leading up to the Nisei Showoff roll-in.

Event Coverage: 2010 Nisei Showoff Preview!

Fresh from Bush Intercontinental Airport, Andrew came back with the absolute worst farmer’s tan i’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen some seriously bad ones (mainly on my own arms) in my life. Between the iced out towels being applied to his neck, I got a chance to look through all 1500 pics he took this weekend. He says it was the best ever. So while me and Andrew sort his photos and narrow it down to a few hundred, I wanted to share a few photos that he took. So check it out!

Variety. Nisei had this in spades.
