Reminder! March Houston Coffee and Cars Is This Saturday!

Last month’s event was cancelled due to a venue change, but this month’s Coffee and Cars is this Saturday, and Lamborghini of Houston have graciously agreed to host this month’s festivities!

From the Coffee & Cars Facebook page:

“Hello everyone, for the month of March we will be in a temporary North Houston location, details have not been finalized with a venue in the Galleria area but we look forward to being back in that area in April. For this month we will gather at Lamborghini of Houston, we have room for 350 cars, spectators will be able to park next door at the Hyundai dealership. The Rossion Q1 along with many more incredible machines will be on display, thank you for your support and for believing in Houston C&C.”

Oh it's on.

Nostalgic Wednesday: Honda Mini-Trail CT70

First, I would like to thank JohnP for covering last week’s Nostalgic Wednesday. These past few weeks were both crazy and amazing because my wife and I just had a baby boy (named him Blaze Alexander). Having a son, having this passion for cars and being a part of Mayday Garage gives me so many dreams for this kid; like taking him to car shows and photo shoots, what his first car would be, helping him cut the coil springs to slam his first car,  go-karting parties, and many more. As a new car enthusiast dad it’s something fun to look forward to. All these ideas have inspired me for today’s Nostalgic Wednesday. When I was younger I wanted a mini-bike, not just an ordinary mini-bike from Pepboys, but a Honda Mini-Trail CT70.

wood.

Also known as pit-bikes, these bike’s small frames allowed the crew to fit in the corner of just about any trailer during race days. Its predecessor was the Honda Monkey Z50Z. The difference between the monkey and the CT70 was its distinct T-bone frame. The CT70 was sold in the US was and also marketed in Europe and Asia as the Honda “Dax” or ST70. The name Dax,which is a reference to the dachshunds (dog), the silhouette which is a resemblance to the shape of the bike.

love how the Japanese find inspiration in anything...

Back to the Stage: Greg Lilly’s Impreza WRX STi

It was 5:30am on Sunday, dragging myself out of a slumber I knew I had a mission to accomplish. Dan the Pro-Phan and I had to shoot a black beauty not for the first, nor second, but THIRD time. Now, not every shoot goes according to plan, but when we feel that a car deserves justice you better damn well believe we will do what it takes to make it happen. And determined to be successful with our third attempt Danh and myself embarked on yet another photo journey accompanied by Greg Lilly’s ultra sleek Subaru Impreza WRX STi.

H-Town is where we play.

H-Town is where we play.

This is the second feature that Greg has graced our blog with his first being his tastefully modded S2000, shot by local automotive photographer Chris Reno. Jumping from car to car, Greg always found himself back in a Subaru. Maybe it’s the madness that is within the Subaru community that keeps drawing him back or the driving experience. All I do know however is that he is no stranger to this Japanese AWD platform.

Nostalgic Wednesdays: The Apexi N1 Exhaust

Hello ladies and gents, another Nostalgic Wednesday has cometh. This week I will be throwing up a bit of Nostalgia because our main man Mark Manalo just had a baby, so, if you get a chance, give a shout out to congratulate him on the arrival of a next generation ricer. Now, what do we have in store today for Nostalgic Wednesday? The one, the only, Apexi N1 exhaust. That is right folks, the N1. Im getting a little ricey on this one…although not super old per se, it’s arrival in the late 90s took the ricer community by storm.
