Nostalgic Wednesdays:1987 Lancia Delta Integrale

the corner king

During the long weekend, I decided to stay home, went to run some errands and for some alone time,I installed lowering springs on the wagon. I spent down time watching reruns of Top Gear and they featured the Italian company Lancia. Clarkson and Hammond described Lancia as a ‘rust bucket’ bulder. Lancia did have a bad rep for it’s quality and reliability but they built one car that tickled my fancy; the Delta Integrale.

Mitsubishi and Subaru for lunch, Celica GT4 for desert.

Debuted in 87, Lancia packed the Delta Integrale with a 210 horsepower turbo charged engine preparing the car for Group Racing. The car was created to conquer the sport, which it did six consecutive times! With six consecutive World Rally titles under its belt, it still holds the record today.

On The Run: Sumo Dinh’s Purple Stuff S13.

Sugar. Water. And of course, purple.

When me and Mikey set out to embark on a 6 hour (7 with breaks) drive in a cramped Mazda Miata for New Orleans, we didn’t know what to expect. The idea was to check out the local car scene in Louisiana and to also keep a look out for any cool cars that we wanted to feature later when we would come back. I had a few cars in mind that I wanted to check out in person, and one such car was Sumo Dinh’s S13 coupe which had just come out of the body shop wearing a new purple suit…

Grimace would be proud

Sumo is all smiles, as he should be, since he just had red beans and rice
