Nostalgic Wednesdays: F1 Spatter

While browsing through my picture files, I noticed a folder named “Sparks” in my F1 folders. I clicked it and found old pictures I saved long time ago. Still having a hangover from the new years celebration and all the fireworks, I wanted to share some pictures for this Nostalgic Wednesday. Nothing fancy just simply pictures of Formula 1 cars acting as flints as they hit scrape the pavement. I must say, the interesting part with these pictures happens behind the lens during that time. The shot has to be taken at the exact moment to capture the best shot. They didn’t have the luxury of reviewing each photo on the lcd screen to check if they got it or it’s just an over exposed picture.

And a Side of Charm: Tyler Horne’s Retrotastic Royal Enfield Sidecar Bike.

Back in September, I had the pleasure of meeting up Tyler Horne, a local car guy in Houston that’s hellbent on spreading the good word on healthy eating by running multiple farmer’s markets all around the city. Although Urban Harvest is his baby, his passion is cars and bikes just like the rest of us gearheads. I’ve known Tyler for a little while now, so when he asked if he could have some photos taken of his newest obsession, I told him he should have one of the other Mayday guys take the photos because I really don’t consider myself capable of taking outstanding photos, but more importantly, I wanted the photos to do the bike and owner justice.

Nostalgic Wednesdays: Honda CRX Exclusive

It's Exclusive, but Doberman not included.

Last Nostalgic Wednesday for 2011, what could be a good year ender? Why not a Honda CRX. Why the CRX you say? The Honda CRX was one of the fathers of the “ricer” cult in the US. Also referred as the “pocket rocket”, the CRX was a quick fix for tuners and marketed as a sporty compact car. If you’re in the market for a CRX, it’s like hunting white unicorns. I know a clean, unmolested CRX is hard to come by these days. But let’s try to up the ante and since it’s a year ender NosWeds, Let’s talk about the black unicorn, uber rare 89′ CRX Si Exclusive.

Before the Si-R, Honda had two CRX models in Japan, the 1.5X and the Si. Based on these two models, they came up with 7 other trim models. With only 350 units built, the Si Exclusive would be considered the rarest CRX.

From White Trash to High Class: Colter Morgan’s Oh-So-Wide 240sx S14.

So before I left Texas for Maryland, I tried to find another blogger and photographer to join our team and fill the void I was leaving. Actually, truth be told, I’d been looking for these two mythical beasts for at least a year. We’re pretty picky about who we work with because it’s more than just photography skills, writing skills or even ninja skills that we’re looking for. It takes a certain personality to put up with our constant jokes and stabs at each other and there has to be that passion for cars which is hard to find in someone unless you get drunk with them.

Another hard day for Santa.
