On the run! The Mayday Garage Lonestar Run to Wek’Fest!

As I’m typing this while riding shotgun in Greg Lilly’s Matte Green STi, i’m having some difficulty holding on to my macbook and camera as Greg is literally blasting past our 30+ caravan of sweet and sick rides! I picked a few photos to share, and we’re a few hours out from our last stop at In-N-Out Burgers in Ft. Worth. Enjoy!

I warned Mikey this would be a bad idea. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Nostalgic Wednesdays: Honda City Turbo II

While waiting for Forza 4 for X-box to come out, i was playing some GT4(LOLyea). As I was looking at my garage, I saw a car that I thought was interesting, The Honda City Turbo II. In history, there are only 2 cars that I know of that were produced by Honda that were turbocharged; the F1 car, and the Honda City. The City also known as “the Bulldog” because of its aggressive face, was Hirotoshi Honda’s (MUGEN) masterpiece.

Do It Right The First Time: Mike Ramani’s Jspek’d WRX STi.

Do it right the first time.

Remember that, write it down, email it to yourself. If you’ve ever asked one of the greats, that is, someone who’s car has been featured in a magazine a number of times, or anyone who competitively races day in and day out, you’ll hear these words of wisdom more than once. It doesn’t matter if you come from a Honda or Ford background, if you want less stress on yourself, just do it right the first friggin’ time. That’s rule number one.

Sitting at the dock of the bay.

Morning face.

Mike flashing me his game face three times.

Blang blang.

Mike showing some restraint to the STOP sign.

These words are all too familiar with Mike Ramani, owner of this exquisitely clean and tasteful STi. From the get-go, Mike has hand selected each and every part that resides in or around his Subaru, and the product of his passion has resulted in him becoming digitally immortalized on our pages here.

Louisiana Trippin’: The Finale.

As we wrap up our trip to The Big Easy with Mike’s WRX STi, we’d like to thank everyone involved in making this trip a success. When I told John I’d find a handful of cars to shoot in one weekend, I honestly didn’t think he believed me. We usually can handle one or even two cars a day, but six in one weekend was rough, but we made due.

To summarize, our main man Newton tagged along and made two short videos to show you in a nutshell what and how it went down in Louisiana. The first, which we posted this monday, was JohnP cursing/talking about what we did which you can see here below, and the second, is our two minute summary of the cars we shot. Hope you enjoy!

Missed one of our feature cars? No problem, read more about each ride by clicking on their respective pictures!

As Mayday Garage grows larger (we need more help!), we’re going to eventually start to venture out to other regions of the United States in search of the rides that tickle us in funny ways. We’re always looking for rides that are unique and fresh. Keep an eye out cause you never know when we’ll be in your hood!

Nostalgic Wednesdays: One Bad Porsche 911 3.6 Turbo S

Houston traffic is something else. Ranked number 5, Houston was one of the worst cities for traffic in the US as of 2010. If you’re familiar with 610 loop and i10 interchange, it’s ranked #2 worst bottlenecks in the US as well. It’s so bad that I have to leave an hour and a half early for a 17mi drive to work. I needed to keep my self sane;other than just listening to morning radio, i had to entertain myself by observing every car around me crawling the freeway. Regularly I see a black carlsson e55 AMG, BMW v12 750i, but  this morning, I was lucky; I heard a rumble trailing behind me. It didn’t sound like a V8 on magnaflows, it was something different. It rolled by my side and brought a smile to my face; it was a black 964 3.6 Turbo S! But what really made me excited was…
