We’d like to apologize to everyone for our lack of new sticker designs lately, but rest assured, we have some new ones up our sleeves. I would, however, like to take this opportunity to tell you about our latest sticker and it’s significance.

It’s a sticker that can only be given, not bought. These 3″ triangle stickers will be given to owners of cars that we just plain like. If it suits our style, or if it’s just nuts, we will give you one! All that we ask is that you actually put it on your car, and not on your toilet! These stickers are HAND GIVEN ONLY. They are extremely limited in production, and therefore will only be given by myself or JohnP. It could be left on your car under your windshield wiper at a coffee shop or it could be given to you at a car meet, either way, it’s just our way of saying that we like your car.

A part of my daily Craigslist rounds is searching for vintage motorcycles and the term “Cafe” would be one on my list of saved tags. In hopes of finding a classic 7o’s Honda CB, or a Norton frame to start with, I am still in pursuit of slow building my Cafe Racer.

What are Cafe Racers you say?

The term Cafe racer also pronounced as “Kaff-Racers” originated from the UK, Britain  during the 1950’s after the second World War.  A Cafe Racer is a custom style of motorcycle  that is modified for speed and handling over comfort and safety.  To distinguish a cafe racer, first thing we notice is that the usual suspects are either a Norton, a Triumph, a BSA, a Ducati and a Honda of  years 50’s to mid 70’s.

lucky number 7

For today’s Nostalgic Wednesday, we focus on the 1970 Toyota 7. This car may be familiar to some because of its appearance in the GranTurismo game series. Before the 1970 model of the 7 race car, Toyota had developed and produced earlier models of the 7 that competed in the Can-Am. In 1968, Nissan took the spot but equipped their racer with a 5.6 liter V8 Chevrolet Engine (wth?! Nissan), it took 1st and the Toyota 7 finished 7 and 8 respectively.

Unsuccessful with the earlier versions of the Toyota 7 in reaching podium positions, Toyota engineers had to develop something superior to its competitors so it could beat its main rival Nissan and its foreign competitors on their own turf.
