Every year, me and Khiem make the trek to the Horsepower holy land called TX2K, which luckily for us, is right here in our own backyard. Houston plays home to this annual event where nuts are flexed by way of dyno numbers, drag and track times. The Toyota Supra, the modern day muscle car of the import world, takes center stage as the rest of the nation looks on to see who’s on top for this year.
Who says Supras are only dyno queens?
The event is broken down over the course of four days, with the first being focused on the road racing aspect. This year the track day was held at Grand Sport Speedway in Hitchcock, Tx, just outside of Houston.

The track day was actually shared by many other types of cars. Cars that are very track oriented such as Porsches, Corvettes, GTR’s, Vipers, Lotuses, Caterham7’s and even an Ariel Atom! This was very exciting to watch, as the Supras shared the tarmac with cars that were MR, AWD, and RR.

Powerhouse Racing and MVP motorsports were there as well to participate in the festivities as well. I even got a glimpse of the new GReddy turbo upgrade kit on one of the R35 GTR’s!

Speaking of GTR’s, there were plenty of them representing. There were some fire spitting examples, but I couldn’t manage to snap a photo at the right moment. 🙁 So as the day dwindled down, we took more and more photos, and we’ll finish out this post with some images that you may like.
