80’s JDM

As a kid, most of us had that one car poster in our bedroom. some had the White Lamborghini Countach, the F1 cars, the Red Dodge Viper, the white Ford GT90 and of course, the red Ferrari Testarossa. I grew up in the generation where if you said Ferrari, I pictured a Testarossa. I wasn’t really a fan of it, till Willy Koenig built the Competition Evo Special.

The Koenig Competition Evo had the 5 liter boxer charged with two Koenig turbo kits, turbo pistons, upgraded transmission and oil cooling system, a custom exhaust system and the famous fiberglass (now available in carbon-kevlar) bodykit. Total power came close to 700hp from 390hp, enough for a sprint to 100 in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of over 200mph.

Work Approved.

The Koenig Testarossa Competition Evo gives me the giggles every time I see it. It still is one of my favorite modified Ferrari ever built. I believe the Koenig Testarossa Competition Evo built my love for the F40 because of the similarities in body style.

almost F40ish…

I love how Koenig still sells the parts and kits to build the Testarossa. Hopefully I inspired someone who owns a Testarossa in Houston to build a Koenig Competition Evo.
