In the last few years, 240sx’s have been synonymous with drifting. Although this is still true today, many people also have an image of a busted, tracked, beat-down, multi-colored and big bodykitted car teeming with dents and “drift damage”. To many, this look is desirable and even sometimes considered “cool”, and for some others, it just won’t do.

Stance is everything. Please take notes.

Enter Mikey (Mikeyysb) Nguyen, a young college student that has always had a fascination with the Nissan FR cars. When Mikey first acquired his 1995 240sx, he had many things on his long list of modifications. His first order of business was the exterior.

As you can see, life started as a very green 240sx base model with conservative offset 4-lug wheels and the stock Zenki front end.

The car was overhauled with a complete Kouki (1997-1998) conversion which included a new front bumper, headlights, grille, corner lights, fenders, carbon fiber hood, SE sideskirts, and an OEM front chin spoiler. The car was then sprayed a Lexus IS300 gunmetal gray which is classy clean. Mikey then brought the car to 786Motoring, where owners Ameen and Amir took care of the 240sx even further by massaging the suspension and brakes.

The S14 was fitted with Z32 (1990-1996 300zx) 4-piston calipers and rotors in front, Z32 2-piston rear calipers and rotors in the rear, R33 skyline e-brake cables, and a Z32 brake master cylinder to make sure that the calipers get enough brake fluid pumped through them.

The 240sx is slammed on D-Max coilovers and SSR SP1 Professors, sized 18×9 in front, 18×10 in the rear. The tires are stretched with 215/40 and 225/40 series tires to get the car “HellaFlush“. Speaking of which, Mr. Nguyen has also had his car featured on the HellaFlush blog as well.

The guys at 786 Motoring also worked their magic getting the whole stance together by rolling and pulling the fenders all the way around, and raising and lowering the car many times just to get the right look. Many props to 786 for getting this car super fresh!

The car is definitely a neck breaker when Mikey rolls through the local meets and drift events here in Houston, TX, but don’t think he’s satisfied just yet. Now that the car has the bark, the next order of business is definitely the BITE. The car will soon be turbocharged to give the KA24DE motor the much needed oomph it needs to spin those large wheels.

The car is driven/drifted at this ride height daily. No bags. All balls.

So what do you think? Do you guys like the OEM look on 240’s? Or do you prefer the wild drifter style you so often see at professional drift events? Chime in!
