As I type this preview under the Formula Drift Staff Tent, it’s a very surreal feeling to be here at Road Atlanta. Competition starts in a few hours, and there are already THOUSANDS of fans in attendance.

This Discount Tires S13 got some serious angle through the course!

To my left, I have the pit/paddock/vendor area with car companies such as Yokohama, Falken, Exedy, and car blogs such as MotorMavens, SpeedHunters, and next to them is Skip Barber’s area where they happily give fans drift rides around a mini course. Directly in front of me is a sectioned off area of offset/stance minded cars ranging from Scion xB’s to supertucked Lexus SC400’s all brought to you by none other than the people behind Fatlace/illest/HellaFlush. Behind me is where thousands of fans from all over the southeast region of the United States are watching the professional drift cars from all around the globe tandem together on Road Atlanta’s beautiful track. Yesterday, me and JohnP got a glimpse of what we’re in store for today. Below are a few pictures I took from yesterday’s qualifying round.
