You can definitely tell when there’s a huge event in town… when the smell of race gas is in the air… cops waiting at every other exit along “Mexico”… sounds of large monstrous exhaust mufflers ripping up and down the highways. That’s right, the TX2K12 night meets/track/dyno day happens once a year in March and Houston just happens to be the playground for these ridiculously high powered cars: Supras, GT-Rs, Corvettes, and TT Lambos just to name a few. If you’re not familiar with TX2K, check out David’s post from last year HERE as I cannot describe as well as he can about the event. I couldn’t be at some of the day events so most of the coverage photos will mainly be from Khiem and Slappy.

You def missed out if you weren't there... i missed out =/

Can anyone spot Mayday Slappy?

It's not how you drive your car, but the way you sit by it.

You know you're at TX2K when you see a 2J in a 4Runner.

That's a pretty small turbo there....

You've probably seen this S2K on videos where it's popping a wheelie on the drag strip.

A beautiful behind you don't get tired of seeing...

$uperrrrrrrrrr

A wild IS300 appears!

I want some HRE cones.

We caught Hai from JHPhotography playing around instead of doing video...

Jessica Barton getting her Double D shirts ready to sell.

Pretty much.

An event isn't complete without women.

Can

The EVS GT-R doesn't only park hard, but it also puts out 1300HP.

Graphics add 100HP.

We love full frontals.

Mother of God.....

Another view of the RAW Powered 2JZ S2K engine.

Just another Supra...

Look at that shifter... look at it!

The Mullet!

Special treatment.

The Hennessey Venom GT

The JOTECH booth.

The dyno day was a big deal as cars showed how much they could bench.

The ricers at Mayday Garage gives this car a thumbs up.

Knight rider?

Stock? Pffft.

Get that NOS ready son!

The Dyno Room.

Meanwhile at the Dyno...

As soon as Dyno Day ends, everyone would rest up for the biggest meet of the year at Frankenstein’s in Katy. The meet used to only have Supras and other 2JZ powered vehicles, but after several years, it seems anyone and everyone could attend. That’s cool and all but if there are no restrictions or rules set, something will go wrong. Something did go wrong and now the staff of TX2K will most likely discontinue the night meet. We can blame the guys doing burnouts as well as the crowds egging them to do it. Thanks a lot.

It took awhile to get into the parking area. Good thing I went through the back.

As I got out of my car, I found this nice looking IS on Meisters.

I wish I could just pick one.

Everyone attended this meet, even low stanced out SC's.

You know you're in the South when you see lifted trucks and trans ams attending a meet together.

You don't have to have a Supra to attend the big meet... a clean E30 will do.

The crowd was ridiculous for gathering around cars and trucks trying to pass through.

Jet engine motorcycle? Wtf?

The first public appearance of Mayday Dannys' RWB :: Catalina tries to get through the crowd.

As we're trying to get Catalina into the sponsors lot....

Hell breaks loose as a mustang gets arrested for doing a donut in front of several Sherriffs.

We finally get Catalina safely in front of the sponsors entrance/exit gate.

A view of Catalina from the front.

Sadly we did not any photo coverage of the bikini contest this year...

But we did get photos of Juan cooking some burgers.

The TX2K events usually start on Thursday with track days. This year, it was held at MSR Houston. We had planned to attend the event with Danny’s RWB 993, but there were a few mechanical difficulties trying to get the car to run. I stopped by two nights in a row hoping to see the car running, but no luck as there was a bad leak in one of the oil hoses and then another leak in the gasoline hose. Danny finally fixed all these problems and got the car running in time for the big night meet at Frankenstein’s, but had missed some of the TX2K day events. It isn’t a big deal to Danny now since Catalina is up and running.

His first time driving Catalina, he group texts us, “This car is fucking amazing!”

These were taken on my iphone as Danny was trying to get Catalina to start again.

While Danny is working on his car throughout the first two nights of TX2K12, I ventured out to the Omni to snap a couple of photos. The Omni has been one of the preferred hotels TX2k supports. As I was walking around I got a chance to meet Mike Boldt whom came all the way from Canada. He actually did not know about TX2K until someone had told him about it. He was amazed by the amount of badass cars at the meet and had compared it with his local towns’.

HPD regulating as usual...

Why? Because....

Racecar.

Turbo powered bikes weren't uncommon at these events...

Mesh always works.

Nitrous means serious bidness.

One of the many LS powered chassis' at the meet....

These ADV1's looked pretty good on this ZR1.

Cars would roll into the Omni parking garage in groups....

Bobby's boosted IS300 makes a special appearance...

<3 DD's

Jotech's widebody GTR

A view from the rear quarter...

Boobs.

ADV1 Track Wheels?

Looks like it.

I'm always a fan of E36's...

Check out this LS powered FC.

Muscle power!

Honda power!

You can see Mike Boldt on the left taking a photo of SW's TT Lambo...

Just look up "SW TX2K12" on youtube and you'll see why he needs all that race gas...

Gotta look good while rolling too, right?

The final days of the meet were held at Lonestar Motorsports Park in Sealy, TX. Khiem rolled out with Danny and got a few photos of the action going on there.

Hot girl in 1100HP car? Check.

Don't underestimate those old MkIII's... especially those from Secret Services.

Team Oranges' RB26 Drag S15

Check out how much heat this Supra is giving off...

Needs more GoPro's.

Dat bulge.

You might think he's tuning the car, but he's really checking out Jessica Bartons' FB page.

So many butts in this photo, but we only care about one... maybe 2.

I bet that guy is just breaking in his brand new GT-R...

Mayday Khiem likes this.

That concludes our coverage of TX2K12. Hopefully, all of our guys will be able to attend TX2K13 next year as we bring you top quality photo coverage.

Photos taken by Khiem “Booja” Pham, Andrew “Slappy” Machac, and myself exclusively for MaydayGarage.
