Weaksauce is defined as something that is incredibly lame, weak, or uncool.
WEKSOS, the creative minds behind the now legendary WEK’FEST car shows in California is the exact opposite.
Confused? Don’t be.
What started as a small gathering of the best whips on the west coast has outgrown it’s NorCal roots, and now is set for a four city, nationwide tour starting with Los Angeles, home of the greatest cars this side of the Mississippi. Actually, the event was held about 30 miles south of LA in Long Beach, which made this particular venue that much more eye-popping. WEKSOS also collaborated with world reknown car culture/lifestyle aficionados, FATLACE, originators of the coined term “HELLAFLUSH“. Together, these two wonder teams are hell bent on world domination as all tuning eyes of the world focus on one corner of the globe, southern California.

Unfortunately, all of the MaydayGarage guys were tied up doing other things during this weekend, so we definitely were not out in full force, however, our resident Honda expert, Andrew got a chance to fly out last weekend for both Wek’Fest and to visit his homies. Armed with his trusty Canon 50D and a small handful of lenses, he was able to capture his side of the show. This is his story as told in pictures. **Warning** If you’re viewing this from a mobile phone, you will not see everything, cause I’m sure your phone can’t handle 100+ photos!!**
You already know.
This story begins on that now famous street where the DPK and ATS guys get together the day before the show to wash the cars and button up any last minute issues…

ATS*Fred and son Jaylen enjoying the Long Beach sun while the crew washes the cars.

Dina and Angel help out Jason on his mint CRX.

Ryan(AirbagClub) and Angel conversing....or is Angel listening to Ryan talk about Carne Asada fries? LOL I'm all ears Ryan.

Jason applying some additional elbow grease on Dina's S2k. I should have gotten them a couple chairs...probably would have been easier on the back...since it's so low.

Dina's S2K again.....resting on all fours.

EK Squad originator Chris

The biggest homie..Hoonie.

David taking the wheel of Lisa's DC2 in prep for a minor detail.

Pie aka LFP Low Fat Pie(newest name per Joey from The Chronicles).

I'd think twice about stealing those rims.

Joey's super clean Q from The Chronicles

Little Jaylen playing with the chamois, and never running out of energy.

Angel telling Low Fat Pie, "look at me, 500 calories a day ain't gonna cut it around here".

We headed over to Rywire's shop to let the guys get a couple cars ready and Joey wanted to shoot Ryan an Chris's EK's. Stay tuned to The Chronicles for that feature. Pictured L-R Ryan, Jason, Jared, Ben and Darryl carefully fasten Jareds bumper on his S2000.

Dina never got a word in since David was sip'n NOS, courtesy of his sponsor.

Jared, Jason and Ryan put the final touches on things.

I love the seriousness of ATS*Ryans interior.

I think Ben and Angel are comparing their S2000's.
And with that, it’s off to the Wek’Fest show!

Digging this. Clean, tucked w/AC, and nice ride height.

ATS*Chris's Rando kitted EK on Regas is always a crowd favorite.

During roll in was a good time to get shots since the crowds weren't there yet. You could spot most people removing hoods all morning.

If this picture only had sound. Man this M5 sounded nice!!

Solomon getting the facial treatment.

At Wekfest you never know what you'll see, as this LP640 took a spot close to the harbor.

Ernesto Jr, one of the ones that made this whole show/venue possible. Thank you sir!

Oh did I mention he's a huge BMX bike builder. This was one of three I saw him dip'n around on Sunday.

Eddies SC is always a pleasure to see.

Serious business

DPK*Jared was all smiles, I would be too if my S2000 had a super clean tucked bay by Rywire.

I spotted this 86 Corolla last August at Nisei, and it still makes me stop for in for a pit stop.

This TC was doin it big, and I was a fan.

DPK*David was also doing well, as he piloted Jason's silver CRX to the show.

And a partial shot of his bay. Very well thought out and clean.

Grimace approves.

Mikeys Box killing the grass.

And here's OJay's good friend JP(RootbeerEG), giving his LS two thumbs up.

The Circuit Hero EG was in attendance, I just wish I took more pics of it. But here's a shot of the ASC strut bar.

Arn brought out his 68 Mini(Bell) for the first time.

Jimi, go feed Diego, I think he's hungry. Lol

It's rare to see modded FD's and this one was a must see....in person.

Where's the beef?

Volkswagen Racing was selling these umbrellas for $15, yes that's it. Slight defects, but totally worth it. I scooped one myself so I didn't have a repeat farmers tan like Nisei last year.

Chameleon paint anyone?

<3 those Ordens

The man himself, DJ Murdock, if you haven't seen his photography work you're missing out.

So much lip Bubba from Forest Gump would be jealous.

The Queen Mary now resides in it's current place, but offers tours, restaurant and hotel accommodations.

What the picture doesn't show is the S14's power plant....a corvette motor.

37V's are very fitting for this chassis.

ATS*Angels aggressive S2000.

I should have taken a closer pic of the 12 pot calipers, but this IS was in the Club Lexus corner.

Maybe you'd rather go Euro?

Mike G's Tank.
And the pick of the litter:

I have a feeling we'll be seeing a feature on this car in the near future from our West Coast friend Antonio, as he takes a gander.

More on this car later...

That's all folks!
Still there? Awesome. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the DPK/ATS MiracleWhips crew for their hospitality in letting our man Andrew and his Fiance Ashley stay with you guys and for being the best hosts ever! Also, big thanks for everyone at the show that sported and represented our stickers!! You guys rock. Till next time…

Another Wek'Fest wrap. Thanks for reading!
Oh and one more thing… soon, we will be debuting our new format. A format that will actually showcase the higher quality photos that we take, but in the meantime, check out the entire photo gallery and all of the high res versions HERE!
