If anyone has been paying attention to the blog or our Facebook lately, they will see that Mayday Garage has gotten their hands into some very interesting things. David is moving out East, Danny is building a Rauh Welt 993, Mikey is wrenching his S14, has school and work. Khiem still rolls his beast SC, and plays SF4 professionally. Pro-phan Danh has become a wedding master and BMW track master, Newton is into films, Slappy got married but is still a ricer, Venn works 160 hours a week, and myself, well, I started a food truck called The Rice Box.

The Rice Box is Houston’s first Chinese Fast Food, Food Truck and is also the reason that I have been mucho MIA on the blog, local car events, Formula D and SEMA. Hopefully I can get out to TAS, but we will see. This is a car blog, not a food inspired blog, so I am going to spare the details of all things kitchen/ food related on the truck. I will however share that the truck is powered by a 5.7 liter carbureted V8 and is known to lay down a heavy 27 second quarter mile, and does 0-60mph in about 15 seconds. One of the quicker food trucks in Houston for sure. I hope to get this thing into the 15s fully stocked in a year or so, we will see.

All paint and body work, was done by myself, Danny Barber, Mike Nguyen from TeamShiftPoint and my business parter Arthur Wentworth. The vinyl work on the truck was designed and installed by none other than local Houston Hardparker, Greg Lilly from Underground Graphics. And just in case you don’t remember Greg, you can see his car here.

Im going to keep this short. I wanted show you guys what I have been working on as of late since I haven’t been around. And no, Mayday Garage in Houston will not be dying out nor slowing. We have two more guys coming on to the Houston team since David left to go blow up the East Coast, literally.

So, if you want bad ass Chinese food, or just want to come hang out with any of the Mayday Garage team when you are in Houston, come out to the truck! To the plugs.
