The Bukake Machine
It’s Midnite and I have to be at work early tomorrow to finish leftover work from yesterday, but I’m still here at a local teahouse writing up this post. I’m surrounded by a couple to my right learning general chemistry, two hot Asian-russian girls behind me playing on their laptops, and to my left is a guy working on some sort of badass graphic design in photoshop. I should probably pack up and head home to sleep, but before I do that, I’m going to post a bunch of random photos from Round 1 of the Lone Star Drift Series held almost 2 weeks ago.
I didn’t really plan on attending, but I wanted to support a friend participating in the drift clinic… and when I got there, he had already left. That asshole. So without a media vest, I just walked around snapping away with my 5Dmk3 and 35mm lens…

First snap of the day was this S14 with a big ass wing on Rezax's.

She has some pearl on her.

Needs moar stickers.

This happens a lot when I go to events...

Imran is no stranger to the grassroots scene while torquing his lugs to spec.

If this Banana looking Cressida on SerialNine Aero looks familiar, you're right. It used to belong to Ameen of 786Motoring.

I mentioned earlier it was windy and 70F..... but still felt like it was 50F with the wind chills.

Walking towards the car show side of the event, I found Anthony Do's Inline Racing Turbo'd FRS...

Matt Bengston and friends waits for his qualifying run...

In front of him was this thing...

Been watching this build by Michael Van Shellenbeck for awhile now. Pretty excited to see him finally compete.

Jeezus.

A wild Hoonigan S13 appears...

Walking back to the pit/parking area I found this Silvia S15 on gold Advans. The owner had just purchased this car the day before the event. Looks like you're not the only S15 in town Danny Barber!

I got to watch a couple of runs by this caged and drift ready Scion FR-S... not too bad but still needs work.

Gotta respect Ben Norrell for taking his E30 Cabrio out for his 2nd drifting event.

The color caught my attention.

Mikael Hinojosa is always out at these events... here he is tightening the lugs on his Top Secret tuned 370Z.

Ready to go to war is this Dipped Subaru Wagon.

Everyone listens as Thai tells a story about how he beat some Civics in his Impul G20...

I headed to the track without a vest and was greeted by these guys...

It's always tough to get the right exposure when shooting a dark car like Mario Gomez's 350Z while it's bright as fuck outside.

Of course when you find a spot where the sun hits the car's paint, you'll get a nice color pop.

But when you have a dull colored car in the sun, it won't pop as much...

Check out that tripod DSLR video setup on Matt Bengston's 350Z.

When there's a long delay during the competition, we, the media, had to entertain ourselves...

The toughest thing about GGP's track setup is staying out of each other's way...

@#$%@! Cmon!

Of course there are some images where I don't look at the shutter speed and accidentally overexpose the photos a shit ton. I guess it wasn't too bad if I could somewhat save it.

DeWayne Ramsey in the 1JZ Cressida follows Justin Flore's 350Z.

Dewayne takes good lead after the first turn which allowed him to move onto the round.

Mario takes the lead against Tim Koenning.

Yes, that's Whatabuger in the back. Jealous?

Looking good guys.....

Nope nope nope.

The final two battle it out for first and second of Rd. 1. Riser in the rear behind Nacho earns the top spot with 108 pts.

Jason is happy the event is finally over.

While the awards were being announced I got a chance to take some shots of the cars that showed.

Anthony Do's ILR Turbo FR-S.

Team Emotion repping pretty hard at this event.

I believe Bryan's Boosted CRZ was the Best in Show Winner.

The golden light behind the 3 Emotion members in the show.

JohnP would approve this.
We’ll definitely try to do a proper coverage of the next drift event… maybe.
