Event Coverage: 100 Drifters of December.

What a better way to start off my recent move to Maryland than a big grassroots drift event? Drift Nirvana’s yearly 100 drifters of December is exactly what it sounds like, to assemble 100+ drifters and invade every inch of Summit Point Motorsports park, a huge track nestled in a small town in West Virginia. What makes this event unique isn’t just the sheer amount of local and semi-pro drifters sliding around, but rather how they give drifters a choice on which track they’d like to drift. Yes. Multiple tracks all at once, kind of like how they do it at Ebisu in Japan.

It’s All In The Details: Shannon Kobashigawa’s AE86 Levin Coupe.

There’s a lot of things that are disappointing in life. Missing out on that job opening you had your eye on, finding out that the girl you have a crush on now has a boyfriend, even pouring cereal in a bowl in the early morning only to find out you don’t have any milk (put some water on it) are definitely a few examples of being disappointed. We’ve all been there. But one thing that really annoys me are internet cars or “e-famous” cars that disappoint you when you actually see them in person. I won’t name any specific cars, but if you’ve ever seen cars online and said to yourself “damn! That’s so clean!” and then saw that same car at a meet and didn’t see all of the misaligned body panels, curbed up wheels, missing interior pieces, then you know what I’m talking about. It’s all about the details that people seem to miss. I’ve experienced this too many times to count. Thankfully, Shannon Kobashigawa’s AE86 Corolla doesn’t disappoint.

Rise and shine! This Levin opens it's eyes to the cool morning Cali breeze

Sweet Geezuz, that's a sick 86

Shannon is a vampire, so you can understand his urgency to run from the sun as fast as he could.

One Man’s JDM Junk is Another Team’s Treasure: GarageZero

When me and JohnP set out to fly to Atlanta, GA and cover Formula D, our main goal was to give our readers a view of what goes on, seeing that Formula D hasn’t been to Texas since forever. In our travels, we meet some really cool people, and really cool cars all with the same passion. Some people are into Drag, some Drift, some AutoX, and some just like to look good, so variety is definitely out there. Enthusiasts nowadays have different weapons at their disposal, whether it be AWD Mitsu’s, FF Hondas or RWD GenCoupes, there’s plenty of cars to choose from.

Green is the new black.

Getting Down to Business: Jonas’ Toyota Corolla AE86

Mondays. Oh how I despise mondays. Mondays to me mean two things: 1. it’s gonna be another 5 days before the weekend, and 2. it’s time to put on my game face for work and get down to business. For others, mondays may mean something else, and I’m not sure what mondays mean for Jonas, the owner of this particular AE86, but I’ll tell you one thing, he knows what business is, and this corolla is screaming it.

Even at a standstill, this AE86 begs to be driven.
