This past weekend here in the oil city of the Lone Star state, our friends over at Gillman Subaru brought in a special guest to help launch the new 2011 WRX, Dave Mirra. Now, if you were familiar with the first “Big Event” that went down a couple of years ago, the guest at that time was another X-Games legend and Subaru rally driver Travis Pastrana. The event was spear headed by non-other that Waleed Elostaz (Wally), a pretty well know local supporter of ricer activities and huge sponsor of TXIC forums over at NASIOC. If you would have stopped by the joint this past Saturday it was quite obvious that he lead the event to success. From 6:00am until 4:00pm was a non-stop frenzy of Dave Mirra, rice, and a couple thousand people. It was pretty nuts.

Mirra saying whats up to the crowd, he was pretty stoked.

Cobb Tuning STI, such a bad ass Subie.

Starting early, a young Dave Mirra fan.

Even non Subaru drivers are Subaru fans ;)

2011 WRX, gets more Gs
It is pretty amazing how much the BMX / Moto / Skateboard industries tie into cars. All ages too. The ricers were also out in full force as many were long time fans of Mr. Mirra.

Neck Break.

So. Damn. Clean. Project Mu sets everything off.

Amazing car, it is just unfortunate that someone will spend thousands on the car...and still rock knock off rims, strange. The only thing missing from this car, is some real BBS or some RAYS.

This car I had to compliment however, tastefully done AND rocking original gear. *thumbs up*

I see you.

Just right

All the way from Oklahoma

NASIOC's Best.
Another dimension to the event was the Subaru shop day, where enthusiasts got to work on cars with the assistance of Subaru techs. The is definitely a way to help build trust with your target audience, if there are any dealerships out there that happen to cross this.

Asses.

So you see...

Group Huddle

A Solo act.

Mirra fans.
So when the kiddos got bored at the event, there was this bad ass video game truck that was brought out. Pretty nice, I guess this is the new wave of arcades.

When all was said and done, everyone was burnt to a crisp and ready to party…but that footage is non-existent ;). Big-ups to Wally for a successful event!

Dave Mirra Bike given to the best of show out there
