Khiem’s FD3S ver. 2.1

This past Saturday night, we had the pleasure of working with James Evins, aka Dreams x Machines, on taking a few fun photos. James has worked with us in the past, and we would consider him to be one of the top photographers in Texas for sure. He hasn’t shot much automotive content as he used to, but if you give him a camera and a lens, it’s fun to watch him work.

Khiem just recently bought some new Gram Light 57DR’s for his FD3S RX-7 and had a chance to finally lower it after Danny rolled the rear fenders. So what better way to capture how the car looks than letting James take a shot of it? In this photo, light was non existent, no speedlites/strobes were used, just a Canon 5D mk3 and a Canon 85L 1.2.

Quickie: H2Oi FD3S

Yes, we know there are a lot of things going on in the car world every weekend of the calendar, but we want desperately to be there at H2Oi in Ocean City, MD where the strip is alive with some serious showstoppers. Luckily, our brother-in-arms part timer, Chris Drinkuth of Primo-Lifestyle is there taking a few snaps. Here’s one that we particularly like- A super slammed Vintage Red Mazda RX-7 on some blingtastic rebarreled BBS RS’s.

Cruisin down the street in my six fo, or eff dee, whatever.

Rotary Revival: Jack Coxe’s Pristine Mazda RX-7 FD.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

“The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost is pretty well known for it’s take on “The road less traveled”, that is, doing things just a wee bit differently than most. When I asked they guys at Gorilla RE, a local tuning shop near New Orleans that caters to rotaries, if they knew of any cool cars, Jonathan Bruce, owner of Gorilla RE said he knew just the person. About half an hour later, this great white beauty was thrust upon my rotary lovin’ eyes.

Great Caesar's ghost, this FD almost woke the dead.

Seeing a proper 13B-REW always sends a tear down my cheek

Despite the torrential downpour, we rolled up our pants and kept shooting

Random Snap(s): Wintery FD.

Here in Texas, we really don’t get too much of a winter if you’re south of Dallas. Even further down south, in Victoria, TX, winters are even more scarce. That didn’t stop Karissa Lynne from capturing these beautiful pictures of her (yes, I said her) FD3S on Do-Luck Double-Sixes in a nice Fall setting.

oooOOOooOOooo

It's got gas.
