Smoky Does Houston: Top Secret Dyno Tuning Day 3.

Wednesday was the last day for Smoky Nagata to dyno tune the last batch of Nissans in Houston which happened to be open to the public as well. Fans from all over stopped by Secret Services Auto to see the legend doing what he does best.

Destined For Greatness: 3 370Z’s Prepare for the Arrival of Top Secret

Secret Services Auto was surrounded by 370z’s last thursday as Planet Zero, Swat Performance and Baker-Jackson Nissan were dynoing their Nissan 370Z’s in preparation for Smoky Nagata’s (of Top Secret Japan fame) arrival and tune starting on March 29th, just in time before Import Reactor Unlimited. I must have counted 5 or 6 370z’s that day in front of the shop, three of which sported a small “Top Secret” decal on the rear window.

Random Snap: An everyday Accord EuroR

While I was in Japan, I was constantly fighting the urge to put away my 8 pound DSLR camera as me and my buddy would walk just about everywhere in Tokyo. Walking around for miles was a very common thing to do while vacationing in Tokyo. The reason why I would keep that 8 pound weight around my neck was so that I could capture any car that I found interesting. I snapped a ton of pictures, and what’s funny is the locals would look at me like I was nuts. Most tourists take photos of buildings and monuments, not everyday, normal cars. What designates a “normal” car? I have no clue, but when I took pictures of this obviously modified TSX/Accord EuroR, I got that look.

Does this car look too sedate? Not to me.

From Japan and back: Hajime’s RB26DETT Powered 240sx

Japan is a country well known for many things. Mention the word Japan to anyone, and initial thoughts may range from Karate and Sushi, to Anime and drift cars. Not many people will say that it reminds them of home. Unless, of course, you happen to be Hajime Maki.

If you live in Houston, TX, and have been to any of the 40+ car meets held by Planet Zero, then you have undoubtedly seen this pearl white beauty before you.

Japan: A day with Alexi @ Nikko Circuit pt. 2

Drifting. The mention of the word sends different thoughts through my head. AE86’s, Touge, D1, wild body kits, bright colors and tire smoke are just a few words that come to mind. Of those, the one constant word that always comes back is JAPAN.

The heartland and origin of drifting as we all know it today. What better way to experience drifting than to go to the source. Lucky for me, my buddy Ameen from 786 motoring hooked me up with Alexi Smith from Ziptied.com.
