Joon Maeng: Protect The Harvest

When i think of Joon Maeng i think of heart. He has been battling it out with the best since 2007. It has been a bumpy road for Joon so far this year, but no matter what happens he always seems to have a smile on his face. No matter how many times you test your new car before the season their will always be problems that present themselves during the season. Whether he qualifies or not you will see him at the autograph table signing and taking pics, or at his car in the pits talking to fans and letting kids sit inside the car. He drifts for the passion and for the fun.

Joon decided to go with a BMW Z4 for this season with a 2JZ swap. That’s something you do not see everyday. I know you all love out of the box unorthodox swaps. But, unfortunately with the new chassis Joon has not qualified yet this season, but i think all the kinks and bugs are worked out and FDNJ will be a different story. I’d love to see him qualify this upcoming weekend because this car will fly through the high banks at wall speedway. It will make for an awesome battle and some intense door to door action.

Last season Joon had a pretty bad crash in Long Beach, but he came back strong qualifying in FDNJ. He continued his streak earning a qualifying spot for the rest of the season finishing 25th in the standings. Joon was able to grab a top eight finish in both Seattle and Texas, he exited the top 32 in both NJ and Irwindale.
