As I write this post at 3am, I had just got back from Secret Services Auto about an hour away from where I stay. The dyno sessions are going well, and Smoky is relentless, and a true perfectionist when it comes to tuning. As soon as Nagata-san arrives to Secret Services, he puts on his game face and gets to work. He is a tuning machine!

Dammit Smoky! I told you! I can't read Japanese!

Good thing too, there are a ton of Nissan’s waiting to be touched by the hand of this Legendary tuning God. There was quite a mix of 350/G35/370Zs here, some still even have the window stickers attached! But that didn’t seem to affect Top Secret Japan’s right hand man either.

I know a lot of you are wondering what the numbers are, and rest assured they will soon be revealed, as tomorrow (wednesday) will be open to the general public to view. Should be interesting to see if there is a large turnout. But while we are on the number issue, I want to put in my two cents. From what I’ve gathered on various internet messaging boards, is that most people in the US only care about two things when it comes to dynos and tuning. How much, and what are the numbers. Although these two items are most definitely genuine concerns, you must understand that the Japanese tuning way has most always been about response. When I talk about Smoky tuning here in Houston, people usually ask about peak Horsepower, and that does somewhat irk me. It’s not JUST about horsepower. It’s definitely not for everyone, and it’s okay if you don’t get “it”. Just had to get that out.
